The Community Education Program is offering a Culinary Boot Camp for the weekend of August 8-11!
Have you always wanted to learn about what it takes to be a chef? Or… do you have the desire to work in a professional kitchen but a two-year degree isn’t feasible? Join our three-day, in-depth weekend for a start to a foundation to find out if this is truly a passion! Chef Robin Leventhal & Chef Dan Thiessen will be teaching this class August 8-10, 9am-5pm.
The weekend will cover an overview in:
Basic knife skills
Organizing, shopping and prep lists for an event
Soups, stocks & sauces
Vegetable & Starch cookery
Basic dry & moist heat cooking techniques
Preparation of product for later production
An afternoon of food & wine pairing
Techniques of plated desserts
$600.00 fee includes: rental of chef jacket, pants, hat, aprons & towels. Breakfast & lunch are served daily. Chef’s knife required.
